People of Kice: Joe Holt

IT Manager

Tell us a little about your day-to-day responsibilities?

My day-to-day responsibilities cover a wide range of I.T. related tasks:  Troubleshooting help desk items reported by users, server and network maintenance/administration, computer and server hardware replacement/upgrades, cabling, etc.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

I enjoy the diversity of my responsibilities the most.  As the primary person responsible for the company’s IT infrastructure, my job differs significantly from day to day.

Work Environment

What do you enjoy most about working at Kice?

Kice is a GREAT company to work for!  What really sets Kice apart from other companies is the family-first mentality.  The Executive team has a genuine concern for the well-being of all employees and their families and it really shows.  The way Kice handled the pandemic and prioritized the needs of the employees and their families was just a perfect example of this.

What have been some of your most challenging or rewarding on-the-job experiences?

The most challenging aspect of my job is ensuring that software upgrades, security patches, and other maintenance that takes a system offline are done in a manner that impacts the users the least.

What are three words to describe Kice?

Passionate. Friendly. Excellence.

Munich, Germany – Oktoberfest!

If you could have dinner with two famous people, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

1)  Jesus Christ – Just to be in his presence and be able to ask all the questions about life and the world would be incredible.   2) George Washington – It would be so interesting to hear his thoughts on how our country has evolved and how it compared with what he envisioned.

People would be surprised if they knew (about me):

I am a member of Mensa.

What is the weirdest thing you have eaten?

Bird’s nest soup.

What was your dream job as a kid?

My dream job as a kid was to become a Surgeon, but my fear of needles put a stop to that dream pretty fast.
