Meet Katy Greiner
How many years and what roles have you had at Kice?
I have been with Kice for 12 years, I started out as the sales administrator, and about offers years ago I accepted a position as a buyer with the purchasing team.
Tell me a little bit about your day-to-day job currently?
In my current role at Kice, I am responsible for placing orders for anything from a raw material used to manufacture Kice equipment to purchasing complementary equipment to be used with a Kice system. I work directly with sales and manufacturing to secure parts and equipment for customer orders and maintain inventory levels that accurately reflect what is being projected. Vendor management is also a part of my daily routine, which can include things like reviewing and negotiating proposals for the best product, price, and service.

Personal Side of Katy
If someone is coming to Wichita for one day, what is the one eating establishment they must visit?
I would recommend they stay for more than one day; there is a lot to see and do in Wichita. I can’t pick just one. Homegrown has a great breakfast with fresh and local ingredients. Dempsy’s or Fizz Burgers & Bottles offer a good burger or salad.
Five things you enjoy are:
- Spending time with family
- Seeing live music with friends
- Soaking up the outdoors
What are your biggest pet peeves?
If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
I would work with a director of a local charity; finding out more about the day to day of the operation has always been a point of interest to me.
What did you want your adult profession to be when you were a kid?
I wanted to be a Math teacher.
You’re about to perform in a karaoke bar. What song do you pick?
I can’t think of a single song I would want to perform in front of an audience. However, in my car, that’s another story.
Best place you have traveled to and why?
Allenspark Colorado has a great ranch house that has no cell service; it’s nice to unplug be surrounded by wildlife and beautiful scenery.
