Dust Collection Ducts

Dust collection ducts

Kice is not only known for creating some of the most innovative pneumatic conveying systems in the industry, but also dust control systems. A dust duct is a total system of pre-engineered, welded metal ducting and fittings for dust collection and dust control.

Applications

Dust ducts can often be found in warehouses or facilities that handle bulk material or other products with a byproduct of dust. Dust ducts offer more than 25 different types of fittings in a full range of diameters from 2” to 40” (by half-inch increments). Custom-design fittings are available. With the exception of unusual or extremely large dust control jobs, these types and sizes cover almost 100% of the requirements for air pollution and dust control systems.

Standard features

  • The vast majority of dust ducts are constructed of 14-gauge mild steel (through 12” OD size) and joined together by CC couplings. Large size fittings (13” OD and larger) are typically flanged with either loose floating or welded flanges, and fittings under 8” OD diameter are typically called out as Kice speed spout fittings when applicable. Larger size fittings are connected with flanges.
  • Dust duct fittings such as transitions and tapers are made with short straight-end collars to permit joining by standard compression couplings or flanges. Collar lengths are 4”, 5” or 6” depending on diameter.
  • Flanged straight pipe and ells are normally supplied with one flange welded to one end and the other flange loose. This is so the loose flange can be welded in the field and bolt holes can be aligned to fit as required. Other fittings may have all flanges welded on. Note that longitudinal seams are normally centered top or bottom. Flanges are welded to the part so one bolt hole is in line with the seam. Fittings are made with collars, even when flanged.

Tagging

We can tag the dust duct items with any tagging information required. If you want these items tagged, please specify at the time of your quote or order.

Crating

Dust duct items are crated for protection from freight damage during transit. Crating charges vary depending on size and quantity.
